A New Sanctuary for a Growing Church: Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel & Sapphire
Sapphire recently partnered with Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel (RMCC) on their brand-new sanctuary in Calgary, AB — a major milestone for a church community that’s been growing steadily for nearly two decades.
RMCC has been a valued Sapphire client for almost 20 years. Over that time, their congregation has expanded significantly, eventually outgrowing the space that had served them for years. In response, church leadership recognized the need for a larger, more versatile sanctuary that could meet both their current needs and future growth.

Designing for Longevity and Stewardship
At Sapphire, we understand how important it is to design systems that not only perform beautifully, but also represent wise, long-term investments. RMCC’s leadership team has always shown strong stewardship of the church’s resources, and we were committed to honouring that.
Our team collaborated closely with RMCC’s technical and leadership teams, along with their architect and construction partners, to design a system that was both powerful and future-proof. A well-planned design phase ensured every dollar spent contributed to a solution that delivers real value — now and for years to come.

A Full Audio, Video, and Lighting Transformation
The new sanctuary features a complete AVL package designed and integrated by Sapphire:
Audio: The room is powered by L-Acoustics A10i constant curvature arrays for even coverage, crystal-clear speech, and dynamic musicality. Paired with Shure ULXD wireless mics and IEM systems and an Allen & Heath Avantis mixer, the setup blends seamlessly into RMCC’s existing audio ecosystem.
Video: A stunning Absen LED wall anchors the stage visually, acting as both a dynamic backdrop and focal point. Sapphire transitioned the church to ProPresenter for centralized content control across the venue, and integrated Canon PTZ cameras feeding a Blackmagic 2ME switcher — allowing live content to be routed to the foyer, overflow spaces, and livestream audiences.
Lighting: A full Chauvet Professional lighting system controlled by a Chamsys console brings flexibility and visual impact to every service. The house lights (H55s) dim smoothly from 0–100% to minimize distractions, while a versatile mix of LED pars, ellipsoidals, battens, and moving fixtures lights the stage beautifully.
A Result Everyone Can Be Proud Of
The final result? A thoughtfully designed sanctuary that looks, sounds, and feels incredible — built with quality, stewardship, and community at the heart of every decision. It’s been a joy to see RMCC step into this new chapter with a space that supports their mission and welcomes their growing congregation.
