Sapphire Shines in Designing High-Tech Campus for Canada's Largest Church

Updated: Mar 1

Centre Street Church (CSC) is the largest church in Canada, with a presence in five campuses, including the central campus, Airdrie campus, Bearspaw campus, South campus, and Bridgeland campus. For over a decade, Sapphire has partnered with CSC, providing major upgrades to all of their campuses. Recently, CSC was facing a challenge as their Bearspaw campus was growing rapidly and needed a permanent home, rather than continuing to rent their existing space.

Sapphire stepped up to the challenge, designing, supplying, and installing all the necessary equipment for CSC's new location. This included an 850-seat sanctuary, children's classrooms, a divisible gym/multipurpose space, event spaces in upper and lower foyers, a play structure, and a chapel. To make sure the new campus had the best possible equipment, Sapphire installed an L'acoustics speaker system, Chroma-Q Inspire XT house lights, Panasonic laser projection on a 40' wide screen, Chauvet Ovation stage lighting, Extron control system, and Q-Sys DSP.

One major requirement was the ability to operate spaces for basic events with technicians. Sapphire was up to the task, and added Extron control systems and IP video endpoints. This allows users to control basic AV needs from custom-designed touch panels. Sapphire's commitment to quality was evident in their work for CSC's new campus, which features cutting-edge technology, top-of-the-line equipment, and an expertly designed sound system.

The Bearspaw campus is now up and running, thanks to their collaboration with Sapphire. CSC's new location has everything they need to host large-scale events and provide immersive and exciting audiovisual experiences. Sapphire's work has helped ensure that CSC can continue to grow and thrive, providing a welcoming environment for its members and the surrounding community.
