Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated and eager-to-learn Technician to join our growing audiovisual (AV) team. This is an entry-level role ideal for individuals with less than two years of experience who are interested in building a career in AV technology. Under the guidance of senior technicians, you will assist in installing, setting up, and maintaining AV systems in various environments, including corporate spaces, conference rooms, and entertainment venues. This role follows AVIXA and NSCA best practices and is an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting Lead Technicians
Support senior technicians in the setup, installation, and maintenance of AV systems.
Follow instructions to ensure smooth project execution and meet quality standards.
Basic Installations
Assist with mounting and installing projectors, screens, speakers, and video displays.
Learn to handle and integrate AV equipment under supervision.
Wiring and Cabling
Help with the preparation and routing of cables (HDMI, power, network) according to schematics and safety guidelines.
Maintain organization and labeling of cables to ensure efficient system maintenance.
Equipment Setup
Assist in connecting and testing AV components like microphones, speakers, and video conferencing systems.
Learn how to configure basic AV settings and troubleshoot minor connectivity issues.
Site Preparation & Housekeeping
Ensure installation sites are prepared, including mounting brackets and adjusting furniture.
Keep workspaces and company vehicles organized and clean.
Basic Troubleshooting
Identify and assist in resolving simple AV issues under the supervision of senior technicians.
Document and report any technical issues to the lead technician for further troubleshooting.
Qualifications and Skills
0-2 years of experience in AV installation or related technical fields.
Familiarity with basic AV components and wiring is a plus but not required.
Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Basic understanding of hand and power tools used in AV installation.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders as needed.
Other Requirements
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders, and perform tasks at height or in crawl spaces.
Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
