Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Drafter for a temporary engagement to support our Design Team in Calgary. The primary focus of this role is creating, modifying, and maintaining 2D technical and construction drawings to ensure projects meet deadlines with high accuracy. This is a part-time / casual position.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting & Documentation: Execute high-quality 2D technical drawings, floor plans, and elevations
Schematic Design: Develop and update system diagrams, flowcharts, and organizational layouts
Revision Management: Incorporate redline markups and field notes into the existing drawing sets.
Standardization: Ensure all drawings adhere to company-specific layering, line weights, and block standards.
File Organization: Maintain organized project folders and assist in the archiving of completed drawing packages.
Technical Requirements
AutoCAD: Beginner to Intermediate. 2D layouts, Xrefs, and block management
Microsoft Visio: Beginner to Intermediate. Signal flows, rack elevations
PDF Software: Competent. Markup interpretation (Bluebeam/Adobe/Drawboard)
Qualifications
Experience: 1-2 years of drafting experience in a design, construction or engineering environment
Speed & Accuracy: Proven ability to turn around revisions quickly without compromising technical integrity.
Communication: Strong ability to interpret verbal instructions and rough sketches from the Design Team
Adaptability: Comfortable jumping into mid-stage projects and matching the existing "hand" of the design team.
Upon Acceptance (costs reimbursed by Sapphire):
Three (3) year Driver’s Abstract.
Name-Based Criminal Record Check.
Smartphone with cellular data that can be used for occasional business purposes.
